The investigation of relationship between parents' attitude and adolescent aggression

 This study has been done as desciriptive- related with the aim of studing the relationship between parents’ attitudes and adolescent aggression.
The population of the study has been constitutied by the students of Atatürk High School. Since all the population was planned to be studied, the size of the illustration was not determined and it was completed by 525 adolescents between 15-18 who excepted to join the study. The data of the study; the form including social demographic knowledge, the inventory of parents’ attitude and the inventory of aggression have been gathered by the researcher between April 2007- July 2008. In the analysis of the data, t test, correlation and variance analysis have been used.
According to the data which has been obtained, it has been found that there is a meaningful relationship between gender and aggression and male adolescents’ have a more aggressive they are and the differences between groups are also significant. It has been determined that adolescent genders and the level of father education are effective in the perception of parents’ attitudes and male adolescent perceive parents’ attitudes and male adolescent perceive parents’ attitudes more democratic than female ones. The finding indicate that there is a relationship between parents attitudes and the aggressive level of adolescents. It was found that adolescents whose their parents have authoritive and absent attitude high of aggressiveness tendency and that adolescents whose their parents' have democratic attitude is low of aggressiveness tendency.

According to this results, it can be suggested that a safe and supported environment is mad efor adolescent, information service is presented in overcome with stress and develop abilities of getting empathy, parents are education in the area of bringing up children, to get the show of democratic parents’ attitude by getting affective communication in the family.
