  [Abstract] This article analyzed such problems as more training in specialty, less training in competencies, monotonous ways of evaluation and so on in the continuing medical education for Chinese public health professionals. It emphasized the opinion of carrying out various educations surrounding the training of core competencies for public health professionals by continuing medical education. Combining with practice, analyze the effects of continuing medical education plays on the promotion of core competencies for public health professionals, this article put forward the proposals of enriching training content of continuing medical education, and perfected the public health professional's training pattern in all levels and probing into the way of evaluation of core competencies.
