Abstract
INTRODUCATION
This research intends to study the effect of physical activities on drug use change among stressed teachers . it was done in the second half of the year 2007 and seems to be the first research of this kind in Iran .
METHODS
Among 64 stressed teachers who were  simultaneously   taking anti
stress drugs and whose stress were confirmed through DSM – IV test , were voluntarily selected .The subjects were divided into two classes individual physical activities ( like tennis ) and communal physical activities ( like foot ball , volleyball , …) .
The activities were done twice a week , at regular times and under the supervision  of trainers with specific planning .
RESULS
The results showed  that in the communal physical activity , the most important symptoms of stress ( fatigue and agitation ) had improved from the second month , in compared with the pre – test period and this improvement was significant.
The use of anti – stress drugs had also decreased .
In the individual physical activities the symptoms of stress had improved in the second and of the fourth month.
DISCUSSION
This result is contrast with Tomas & Minard finding. It seems that infusion of positive work of members of a group in comparison with each other / exciting / strengthening the guideline of efficient collation and tendency to dependence and having relationship to others will help the person, so he can be released from stress and anxiety so he can more easily prevail over anxiety.
