Introduction & objectives : Milk & it's related products have high nutritional value .Screening tests are used to control the quality & improve public health standards. Among milk hazards, Mycotoxins are one of the most important. Aflatoxin M1 is a mycotoxin , produced by hydroxylation of Aflatoxin B1 & secreted in to milk . the aim of this study was to determine the Aflatoxin M1 level in non-pasteurized milks in Chenaran . Material & Methods : 93 non-pasteurized milk samples were collected From April 2006 to July 2008 . Samples immediately transported to laboratory & analyzed by Elisa method (Veratox, Neogen Co.) . Results : The mean concentration of Aflatoxin M1 were 75.894 ng/l (3.86-140.11ng/l) . Aflatoxin M1 were confirmed in All samples(100%) . the Aflatoxin M1 level were more than EU standards (European standard 50 ng/l ) in 76.34% ( 71 samples) .
Conclussion : The results of this study indicates that in order to reduce the risk of mycotoxins exposure , Mycotoxins screening tests must be performed .
Learning Objectives: THE AIM OF OUR STUDY WAS O DETERMINE THE LEVEL OF AFLATOXIN M1 IN iRAN .
