Dr. Akindele Adebiyi is a Consultant Community Physician and Clinical Epidemiologist with the University of Ibadan and the University College Hospital, Ibadan. He has vast experience working with the national health system. He is also a preventive oncologist and carries out research in tobacco related issues and prostate cancer. Dr. Adebiyi is currently the coordinator of the Nigerian Tobacco Control Research Group which champions tobacco dependence treatment initiatives and is based in the College of Medicine, University of Ibadan.

Learning Objectives: To have participants gain updated knowledge of global and regional burden of tobacco use.
