98.02 Global community of practice: Public health education taskforce

The Public Health Education Taskforce supports the implementation of the World Federation of Public Health Associations (WFPHA) Strategic Plan 2007-2012 and its Goal 2, which is focused on scaling up public health workforce development. Global Community of Practice was created by the World Health Organization (WHO) and is facilitated in close collaboration of WHO with the WFPHA. Its purpose is:
  • In general, to strengthen public health education and training worldwide;
  • In particular, to focus on development, validation, testing and implementation of self-assessment tool for public health education.

Learning Objectives: To introduce WHO-WFPHA collaboration focused on this topic, including live demonstration of a global knowledge network for public health workforce and its communities of practice
