10 years ago the Networking of Public Health initiatives in countries of South Eastern Europe (SEE) started, sponsored within the Stability Pact by Germany.
During the last 10 years Schools of Public Health have been founded, Institute of Public Health have been organised and Public Health Associations have been created. The German Academic Exchange Service (www.daad.de) supports 23 networks in the SEE countries, one of them is the MetaNET project. The amount of money, spent for the MetaNET project, increased during the last 2 years, so a lot of activities can be financed for networking the public health schools and institutes like Summer Schools, Students conferences, Workshops, elaboration of teaching books, exchange of students, graduates and lecturers between the SEE countries and Germany. So, one of the goals of the MetaNET project is the deepening of the co-operation between the SEE countries.
