This study conducted to investigate situation of community based health services provided by family physicians
MATERIAL AND METHOD:
Research was conducted in a sample of 0-23 month’s children representing Bolu, by using Lot Quality Technique. Surveys were performed on March 2008, This is a cross-sectional study with accuracy as ± 6%, confidence level as 95%. Sample size was 304 children, total number of lots was 38, minimum lot sample size was 8 and decision value was “one” per lot. Data collection was performed educated by medical and nursery students via face-to-face interviews. Comments of providers and users of health care presented comparatively
FINDINGS AND RESULTS:
Mothers of covered infants reported that; receiving antenatal care as 23%; postnatal care as 4%; outreach visits at their home during last 6 months as 8%. Mothers of covered 0-23 months old children reported that; outreach visits at their home during last 6 months as 10%.
Family physicians reported that; giving antenatal care as 23%; postnatal care as 17, 4%; outreach infant’s visits at their home as 26, 1% adequately.
Family health workers reported that; giving antenatal care as 25, 5%; postnatal care as 7, 4%; outreach infants visits at their home as 13, 2% adequately.
Among families has an elders or handicapped reported that; visits for elders and handicapped persons were 29% and 27% respectively.
Family physicians reported that; giving care at home for elders and handicapped persons were 42% and 30, 4% respectively adequately. Family health workers reported that; giving care at home for elders and handicapped persons were 36, 8% and 17, 6 % respectively adequately. We conclude that providing of community based services insufficiently.
