Civil rights protection for public health in China: Legislations and challenges

Xu Huan, Li Mu Office of Public Health Policy Research, Chinese Centers for Disease Control and Prevention [Abstract] Objective�To review the development of civil rights protection in public health legislation in China, analyze current challenges, and thus provide a basis for the optimization of public health laws. Methods� We carried out theoretical and practical studies by literature review, symposiums, and policy analysis. Findings�We analyzed the basic framework of public health laws in China, summarized the main contents of civil rights protection shown by the public health legislation, and explained the main challenges. Conclusion�Research in public health legislation should be further strengthened, so as to achieve the harmony and unification of administrative power and civil rights in public health laws.
