Aim: This descriptive study was conducted in order to determine the frequency of sexual dysfunction among married women between the ages of 15 - 49.
Metod: Sample of the study consisted of married women the ages between 15 - 49 who were registered in Two Primary Health Care Center in the city centre. To gather the data, “ Female Sexual Function Examination Index” (IFSF)was used which was developed by Kaplan, Reis et al. (1999) were used. Before the application of survey form and scala, participitants were provided with both written and verbal information and their approvals were obtained. In data analysis, student’s t test was used in paired groups an one- way varience analysis was used in comparing variables with more than two subgroups in terms of sexual function scores. Analysis were conducted by SPSS 13.0 software package.
Results: In this study, the frequency of sexual dysfunction in women were assessed by IFSF scores.With respect to resultant data, 6.8 % of women had very low, 16.5 % low, 46.5 % intermediate and 30.2 % high IFSF scores. Moreover, it was revealed that sexual functions of women are affected by many factors. Among these factors, the most significant is determined to be age and it was found that status of education, education status of husband, employment status, profession, marriage period, location of residence until the age of 14 years, number of inhabitants at home, status of income, means of terminating pregnany, number of delivery, number of children, means of delivery, menstrual cycle, smoking and body mass index affects sexual functions significantly.
